What is a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle?
The Certified Pre-Owned program is for used VWS that adds on 2 years/40,000 kilometers, which ever occurs first. This warranty begins when the limited new-vehicle warranty expires or when the Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle has been purchased, which ever occurs later. This is a warranty through Volkswagen and not just an In-house warranty. For a vehicle to gain Certified Pre-Owned status it needs to go through a rigorous 112-point inspection, the entire list can be found by clicking here. Most vehicle inspections will allow vehicles to get away with 25% brake pads remaining. This is just one area where the Certified Pre-Owned vehicles are different and put to a higher than average standard. To pass our inspection and receive the Certification, our vehicles require 50% or greater pad life left or they are replaced with brand new VW pads. Another advantage to our Certified Pre-Owned vehicles is the Roadside Assistance that comes free of charge with the Volkswagen Pure limited warranty. This is offered for a full 2 years with unlimited kilometers. This includes
- Towing to the nearest licensed Volkswagen dealer (not just any shop)
- Boost if your battery happens to die
- Flat tire changing
- Unlocking your door if you happen to find your keys staring back at you from inside your locked vehicle

What is a DSG Transmission?
There is no doubt that Volkswagen has been one of the leaders in the automotive industry over the last couple of years and among all the new technologies they have brought to the industry one of the big ones has been their Direct Shift Gearbox or DSG. This new generation of transmission was a big step forward from the traditional manual and automatic transmissions we have all become accustom to. Although the DSG may seem like an automatic, it works on the basis of a manual transmission and acts as an automatic in a way. Unlike a conventional automatic transmission it has two clutches, each responsible for its own set of gears (one gets odd gears and the other get all the even gears). While one clutch may be engaged in 2nd gear the other one is sitting ready to engage the next gear which is why you get such fast and seamless shifts. Unlike other manufactures out there who have a similar style of transmission such as SMG in the BMW’s, they only use one clutch which results in a rougher “clunky” style of shifting.
