2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack wins AJAC Car of the Year award
April 04 2017,
The all-new 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack was named the Canadian Car of the Year at the Toronto International Auto Show earlier this month. Handed out by the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada, or AJAC, the Canadian Car of the Year Award is the most prestigious Canadian award a vehicle can win in Canada.

The 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack beat out two other category winners, the BMW M2 and the Hyundai Elantra Sport, to take home the prestigious title. The CCOTY award is awarded by AJAC after a week of intensive testing at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario. Each AJAC member rates new vehicles in every category on a host of different criteria such as comfort, fuel economy, driving pleasure, interior space, interior quality, cargo capacity, safety, just to name a few.
Each eligible vehicle is tested back-to-back in the same conditions on the road as well as off-road in order to ensure fair comparisons.
Unveiled earlier this year, the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack is the high-end model in the Volkswagen Sportwagen family, and the perfect vehicle for buyers who want to combine efficiency, driving pleasure, interior space, and off-road capability, and that do not want to have to settle for a sport utility vehicle.

The 2017 Volkswagen Goll Alltrack comes standard with 4Motion all-wheel drive, and is powered by a four-cylinder, 1.8-liter engine that delivers 170 horsepower. Paired with a six-speed DSG Tiptronic automatic transmission, the Golf Alltrack is as much fun to drive on the road as it is off the beaten path where the model’s raised suspension and increased ground clearance make it a very capable off-roader. There is even an off-road mode which ensures that you will get to where you are going, regardless of the road ahead of you.
On the other hand, the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack is also refined with plenty of comfort features including heated seats, dual-zone climate control, a sunroof, and even a customizable LED ambient lighting inside the cockpit.
A rearview camera, intelligent cruise control, collision warning with emergency braking, and blind spot warning are just a few of the active safety features found on the new 2017 Golf Alltrack.
In terms of interior space, the Golf Alltrack offers 860 liters with all seats in place, quite impressive and more than enough for the needs of most active buyers. The rear seats can be folded 40/60, and there is even a cargo floor storage area for seldom used items.
