2018 Volkswagen Atlas: The Brand New Full-Size SUV from Volkswagen

Based on the original CrossBlue concept unveiled by Volkswagen in 2013, and officially introduced in production form at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is the newest full-size sport utility vehicle from Volkswagen that will hit the market this summer. Featuring the German automaker’s latest connectivity and safety technology, it promises to offer the highest level of refinement at a competitive price.
Four trims for the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
The 2017 Volkswagen Atlas will be offered in four trims starting with the Trendline model offered at $35,690. The Atlas Trendline will come with 18-inch wheels and an array of mobile connectivity features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with MirrorLink all of which are housed in a 6.5-inch touchscreen. Multi-collision braking and a rearview widescreen camera are also offered in the entry-level 2018 Atlas.
Next up is the Comfortline mode that features 3-zone climate control, keyless access with push-button start, blind spot detection with rear traffic alert, remote start, an upgraded 8.0-inch touchscreen and front assist braking with pedestrian monitoring.
Starting at $48,990, the Volkswagen Atlas Highline features a power tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, power folding heated exterior mirrors, heated rear seats and park distance control.
Finally, the top-of-the-line Execline model offers 20-inch wheels, a 360-degree camera, a Fender Premium Audio System with 12 speakers and a subwoofer, Volkswagen’s impressive digital cockpit, LED taillights, and park assist.
Two engines for the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas will be offered with a choice of two engines, the first being a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 235 horsepower. This engine comes standard in the Trendline and Comfortline model while the Highline and Execline trims get a more powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers 276 horsepower. 4Motion all-wheel drive is offered of course.
Inside, Volkswagen Atlas owners get seating for seven passengers along with a large cargo area that features third and second row seats that fold flat in order to improve versatility and load capacity.
