A Closer Look at the 2019 Volkswagen Arteon

Even though the automotive world is seeing a steady flow of crossovers take over the industry, Volkswagen has shown up to the playing field with something a little different but oh-so appealing and well worth looking at: the all-new 2019 Volkswagen Arteon. As the largest sedan in the German automaker’s lineup, it is also the most expensive, but for good reason when you consider the list of standard features and capabilities the Arteon has.

The Volkswagen Arteon was designed to remain a classic, and even its name is derived from the Latin word for art, artem, and eon, which means a long period of time. Taking a look at the 2019 Volkswagen Arteon’s sleek, modern silhouette it’s clear to see why they chose the name. Here’s a vehicle that’s meant to be as much an artistic statement as it is an everyday utility.

Even though the body and the name are all-new for the German automaker, the engine is not. However, Volkswagen didn’t just throw an old engine in there and cover it with a pretty new package, they actually reused outgoing CC’s 2.0T engine and reworked it for the Arteon. Instead of the previous 2.0T’s 200 horsepower, the revamped turbocharged mill now produces 268, and the torque has been upped as well from 207 to 258 lb-ft.

Of course, it’s about more than just the drive in the flagship 2019 Volkswagen Arteon especially with interior features like a massaging driver’s seat, as well as Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit as standard on the only trim available, Execline.  It’s also important to note that the 2019 Volkswagen Arteon comes equipped standard with 4MOTION all-wheel drive making this fashion-forward full-size sedan just as capable in all weather conditions.

The 2019 Volks Arteon also has an available R-Line package that adds 20” Rosario alloy wheels, along with R-Line badges and unique front and rear bumpers, and of course an R-Line steering wheel.
