The Volkswagen Atlas Basecamp Takes Off-Roading to Another Level

The Volkswagen Atlas has a ton of characteristics and useful features that make it a great choice for Canadian families. It has a ton of interior space and plenty of power, two characteristics that make the Atlas great for people in need of space, and great for models like the special edition Volkswagen Atlas Basecamp.

Alex Earle, exterior design manager at the Volkswagen Design Center California and avid cyclist, envisioned the Basecamp concept as the answer to what a perfect, mountain-biking-friendly SUV might look like.

“Whether you are taking on a series of challenging single-tracks with your favorite mountain bike or enjoying a relaxing evening under the night sky, the versatility of the Basecamp Concept provides ideal mobile solutions for just about any adventure,” he says.

Unveiled at the New York Auto Show, the Basecamp is a special edition Atlas that rides on 17-inch all-terrain tires that, once paired with a 1.5-inch increased ride height and H&R Special Springs coil-over springs, will get you through the trails and up the mountain ahead with complete confidence. A range of accessories including a massive light bar on the roof give the Basecamp a rugged look which is complemented by special red trim and a unique matte gray paint.

The Volkswagen Atlas Basecamp comes with a HIVE EX trailer that can fit a queen size bed and even a mini-kitchen. Explore the open road in style and conquer the rockies with ease with the Volkswagen Atlas Basecamp!
